I spent years building our family through my husband’s medical residency, which really just means I learned — sometimes the hard way — what holds a family together when the season is long and the margin is thin.
That season taught me something I didn’t expect: the foundation doesn’t get laid after things calm down. It gets laid right now — in the ordinary, repetitive, unsexy middle of building careers and raising small people at the same time.
So I wrote a book about it. Not because we got it perfect, but because the simple rhythms and systems we built in that season actually held — and I believe they can hold for your family, too.
